Brand Analytics Manager


Job Purpose

The Brand Analytics Manager is responsible for performing in-depth brand/category analysis and development of OB base business category strategy. This role will be responsible for gathering data, performing marketing mix analysis and providing recommendations to solve root cause issues or identify opportunities. The OB Manager is crucial in continuing to grow Southeastern Grocer’s four Own Brands in a relevant manner for each of the individual categories within Southeastern Grocer’s banners.


Essential Responsibilities


% Of Time

Gather primary and secondary data from multiple internal and external sources (internal systems, syndicated data and external publications); establish best-practice reporting for in-depth Own Brand tier or category reviews, regular monthly updates, new item launches and ad hoc analysis across multiple product categories.


Analyze market, competitor and brand/category data. Conduct regularly scheduled brand and category reviews, monthly new item launch tracking and other analyses as needed. Perform marketing mix analysis to determine Own Brand tier and category root cause issues/opportunities.


Leverage marketing mix analysis to develop base business guidelines and category-specific strategies to solve root cause issues/opportunities and grow dollar sales, units and profitability. Create management-ready presentations that visually convey results and use data to tell a story.


Collaborate with Own Brand team members and multiple internal departments including Merchandising, Marketing, Pricing, Demand Planning, etc. Coordinate with Own Brand team members, including base business marketing, to translate learnings that can be used to help grow the overall Own Brand business and track KPIs.

• Knowledge of brand management and brand/category analytics within the CPG, FMCG field.

• Exceptional ability to source data, perform data analytics in Excel or other platforms on a variety of internal and external data types (including syndicated data), and provide actionable insights.

• Superior analytical, organizational, decision-making and project management skills.

• Strong problem resolution and process improvement skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex and detailed information to a diverse population.

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak and follow directions in English.

• Ability to maintain the highest level confidentiality and compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

• Knowledge of food retail business, as well as Own Brand and category management.

• Advanced degree in Business Management, Marketing, Data Analytics.
