Sr Store Const Project Manager


Job Purpose

Responsible for executing the company capital plan with regards to facilities and stores. This position ensures construction plans for projects, including facility renovations, new store construction and other special projects, are completed on-time, within budget to appropriate quality standards. Role will regularly meet with outside vendors to negotiate contracts and review all documentation relating to project contracts. Role will provide mentorship and coaching to other construction team members. 


Essential Responsibilities

Conduct evaluation and quantification of project costs based on various design plans and store layouts. Negotiate with external vendors and influence internal business partners to ensure completion of project with adherence to budget. Select contractors, designers, etc. from approved bidders list for inclusion in competitively bidding per company/department sourcing guidelines. Review and approve purchase orders for equipment and other owner-supplied items. Maintain accurate budget projections, anticipating risks and offering solutions to keep projects within budget. Provide clear and frequent reports to management regarding budget health.


Provide expertise in creating and managing various construction schedules. Regularly evaluate performance against deadlines and translate how to pay contractors based on the percentage of completion for the job. Maintain realistic timelines for various projects and report any deviation to management and work to facilitate project completion. Work with internal and external stakeholders to schedule various types of work.  Anticipate risks to schedule and offer solutions to keep the course.


Conduct regular inspections of projects, ensure that all work is completed on time and up to brand standards. Create punchlists and provide feedback to contractors and vendors, ensuring quality control in all areas of construction and overall store remodels.


Serve as the point person for all internal (ie: Operations, Design, Real Estate, IT, AP, Reset, etc) and external project team members. Be the company liaison with landlords, developers, co-tenants, vendor partners and building departments. Develop and leverage relationships to maintain a collaborative environment throughout the project. Provide all team members with clear and frequent communication, connecting people with one another and providing information as applicable.


Offer process improvement suggestions and collaborate with store design, purchasing, real estate, property management and maintenance departments to streamline work-flow processes and facilitate seamless cross-functional communication and teamwork.


Serve as a subject matter expert, providing mentorship and training to other construction team members. Participate in the development of team members by answering questions, shadowing on site visits and providing feedback as appropriate.

Bachelor's Degree or 4 Yrs Relevant Experience
