Sr Content Strategist/Copywriter Mgr

 

Job Purpose

The Sr Content Strategist/Copywriter Mgr will create clever and compelling content strategy for all of Southeastern Grocers' portfolio of brands.  This role will connect with our customers through the development of engaging, distinctive and meaningful communications that produce an intended behavioral/emotional consumer response; encompassing the brands' vision, and driving customer and financial outcomes for the organization.

The position will assist in the development of a tone of voice and brand character (copy) for Corporate, Retail Banners, Loyalty and Private Label.
Through collaboration with the broader Marketing department, this role will uphold the integrity of brand content, ensuring a consistent standard and quality across all marketing communications.    

This role will work cross-functionally to engage stakeholders, act as a custodian of our brand and a champion of our customers.  The position will develop meaningful relationships with our brand(s) packaging, advertising and design agency partners.

Campaign Development
·         Accurately interoperate copy briefs, and subsequent amendments/ feedback from various cross-functional business partners.
·         Develop copy for in-store signage implementation guides and other operational documents as required.
·         Manage copy workflow and meet deadlines across all content projects.
·         Collaborate with creative agencies and internal studio teams to ideate and concept campaigns, stories and messaging across print, TV, radio, digital, video and out of home platforms.

Brand Custodian:
·         Play a pivotal role in defining and maintaining the company's tone of voice by writing clear and concise copy that embody the DNA of each brand (Corporate, Retail Banners, Loyalty & Private Label).
·         Own, develop and maintain the brand copy guidelines across multiple channels, ensuring consistency in messaging while finding new and innovative ways to communicate with our customers.
·         Support the Brand Director, serving as the anchor that aligns creative development across all cross-functional teams (marketing, e-commerce, merchandising and design).

Digital Content
·         Work in partnership with the digital communications team to develop landing page content that is featured on our various websites.
·         Write and edit site copy including product descriptions for the web, and create keyword-rich content and taglines that are optimized for SEO. 
·         Write and edit compelling marketing emails, including subject lines, with the goal to maximize open rate, click-through rate, and conversion.
·         Write and edit engaging copy and content for all social platforms that are native to each channel, for amplification and engagement.

• Proficient with Microsoft systems including Microsoft Office suite. Experience working in an advertising agency, or corporate in-house marketing department essential.

• Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.

• Demonstrated knowledge of advertising copy production methods and concepts.

• Ability to influence others’ actions and decisions without express authority.

• Ability to combine marketing knowledge with an understanding of consumer needs to lead the creation of engaging content

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

• Proficient with best practices for SEO, social media, email marketing, and blog writing.

• High level of creativity and skilled application of artistic techniques and editorial messaging to deliver consistently fresh and relevant content.
