Manager, Warehouse & Operations Support



Job Purpose

Responsible for managing the growth, communication, development, fiscal responsibility, and accountability for Logistics and Warehouse Operations. Plan and manage logistics, warehouses, transportation, staff, inventory moves, and customer service. Develop, organize, and implement dock operations for equipment organization, asset tagging, while maintaining clean and safe warehouses throughout various departments of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory, and liquidation. Accountable for proper equipment to arrive and leave facilities safely, on time for the correct destination, and in the most cost-efficient means. Negotiate with transportation companies for best rates and service levels, prepare documents, and complete liquidations, and process/review invoices and other documents as necessary. Resolve issues with suppliers, customers, vendors, and employees.



1. Collaborate with the appropriate teams to utilize equipment to minimize costs to support Store Renewal equipment needs. Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements using warehouse management software. Supervise and work with various teams to develop and implement plans for receiving, repurposing, storing, tracking, packing, and shipping equipment. Manage processes, flow, and staff that receive, organize, stage, and ship equipment.



2. Manage bids for equipment liquidations; process orders, and create invoices for payments. Prepare budgets, and manage expenses to ensure the warehouse operates within the established budget. Forecast requirements, schedules and expenditures.

Analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to meet financial objectives. Manage all freight claims with vendors and approve portal requests as appropriate. Maintain facilities and relationships with shipping companies and freight brokers. Ensure operations run smoothly and cost effectively by creating, monitoring, and evaluating vendor relations.



3. Supervise and develop staff; deliver goals, on-going training, coaching sessions, performance reviews, and deliver results. Work proactively with various departments to realize efficiencies and manage expectations. Stay up-to-date with technology advancements and trends in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, and related fields through ongoing professional education, attending industry events, and networking.



4. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines pertaining to warehouse operations.  Stay up-to-date on changing regulations, guidelines, and best practices.  Develop and implement new policies and procedures as approved to ensure continued compliance. Establish, monitor, and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment in compliance with government regulations, OSHA, and Company policies. Establish and monitor security procedures to ensure the safety of the warehouse operation, personnel, inventory, and other warehouse assets.



5. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Education Required:

High School / GED

Course of Study:

Supply Chain Management/ Logistics or related field

Education Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree

Course of Study:

Same as above or Business Management and Administration

Relevant Experience:

3 - 6 yrs minimum

Language(s) Required:


Supervisory Experience:

1 - 5 yrs minimum

Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels

Excellent oral and written communication skills

People management skills - lead, motivate others, delegate work, and explain ideas

Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Superior planning, organization skills, detail oriented, PandL management,  and budgeting

Experience with Outlook, Access, MS Word, Excel, Hyperion, and PeopleSoft

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the Manager is frequently (34-66%)on the dock in the warehouse. Required to walk on concrete, tile, carpet, etc. and carry, push, lift, and/or pull 20+ lbs. Use hands or fingers to handle, hold or feel objects, tools or controls, talk, see, hear, and perform repetitive movements with both hands.  The employee is occassionally (1-33%)sitting and performing repetitive movements with both hands.

Working Conditions:

While performing the essential functions of this position, employee exposed to adverse working conditions.

Safety Risk Factors:

The employee is frequently (34-66%)required to twist back and/or neck and walk on a slippery or cluttered floor surface.

Equipment, Tools, etc.:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee will be required to utilize a computer, telephone, printer, copy machine, facsimile machine, Forklift, Pallet Jack, Banding Machine, and other warehouse equipment.
