Job Title:

HR BI Developer


Job Purpose

Responsible for maintaining, auditing, and improving data coming into and out of HR data warehouse systems. Works with various business partners within HR to support modeling and analytical requests. Serves as subject matter expert while acting as a liaison between the data consumer and the data. Develops, enhances, and maintains automated inputs and calculations for a variety of business processes. Partners with various stakeholders to ensure process solutions are achieving expectations.


Essential Responsibilities

Works with various stakeholders to understand modeling needs, appropriate variables, and goal outcomes for potential models. Finds statistically significant correlations to build out data models to support data forecasting for the company with regards to HR. Utilizes programming languages to create data models. Ensures data models are accurate by performing regular reviews for data integrity. Frequently reviews existing models to identify and implement improvements to the model through coding and automation. Understands the needs of the stakeholders and creates easy to understand outputs from the model for actionable insights for management.


Business Partner Support

Works closely with various business stakeholders to develop detailed business requirements by asking probing questions and gathering insight into the end use of the data. Conducts gap analysis and translates requirements into data-driven applications and data visualization solutions including predictive modeling, reporting and dashboards. Guides stakeholders through analytical data processing when needed. Ensures stakeholders receive and understand what they need from a data perspective after project is completed. Supports further data requests brought up from the provided data outputs.


Data integration and Maintenance

Owns data governance and documents all processes and procedures relating to data with in system. Ensures data integrity through regular validation and testing. Aggregates data into system from multiple sources using various coding languages. Controls data infrastructure and ensures logical flow of data in and out of the system. Takes into account individual departmental needs with regards to timely loading, accuracy, relevance, and security of data. Supports various departments by acting as subject matter expert and providing solutions for escalating problems that arise.


Business Process Development

Develops and enhances business processes within business intelligence systems moving towards automated solutions. Reduces manual inputs, calculations, and time spent by system users and business partners. Creates easy to digest system generated output feed files and reports for users and business partners. Regularly evaluates processes for improvement after implementation and supports business partners as they learn and use the new business processes.

Required Education

Course of Study

Bachelor's Degree or 4 Yrs Relevant Experience

Information Technology, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field

Preferred Education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Strong working knowledge of reporting tools such as Domo, Oracle Business Intelligence, Tableau, or any similar tools.

• Extremely strong accountability and attention to detail.

• Advanced knowledge of SQL.

• Strong ability in building, maintaining, and improving predictive models.

• Demonstrates creativity to solve business or modeling problems.

• Strong research, critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills.

• Ability to exercise initiative and use good judgment to make sound decisions.

• Effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

• Experience in managing multiple projects and priorities independently or in a team environment

• Strong sense of confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

• Knowledge of multiple programming languages such as SQL, R, Python

• Knowledge of HR processes and HR technology applications

• Experience supporting HR

• Experience supporting data needs of a retail company
