Job Purpose

The Director of Expense & Front End Revenue is responsible for leading and developing a culture of cost savings throughout store operations. This role will lead our Expenses and Store Services strategies for all front end and expenses operations. The Director mentors and coaches managers and other direct reports, to ensure financial objectives are met. He/She will drive a team of individuals responsible for the strategy and performance of consumable supplies, front end expense management, and cleaning activities for all stores across all banners.

Leadership

Manage, coach, and develop a quality team capable of handling companywide cost savings initiatives and programs. Drive creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to tackle complex problems in retail operations with regards to cost savings. Ensure strategic initiatives are implemented efficiently throughout all banners. Develop methods to quantify cost savings programs efficiency and return on investment. Forecast and explain proposed changes in programs to gain support from executive leadership for any and all programs.

Expense Improvement

Develop process for the evaluation of existing and new supply vendors. Direct the cost savings initiatives with regards to consumable supplies across all retail store departments. Ensure various store support center departments are partnered with to ensure support of all company promotions and initiatives. Drive a proactive approach to supply analysis and work to create efficient processes to support store support and cost savings.

Front End Revenue

Ensure strategies for all front end operations are working optimally. Drive the development of increased revenue through new programs and front end desk services. Maintain and monitor current programs while proactively pursuing increased customer awareness and loyalty. Work cross functionally with various departments to simplify processes for stores while maintaining support for numerous programs.

Store Services

Monitor the evaluation and oversight of third party store service vendors. Drive vendor performance and increased efficiencies while maintaining fiscal responsibility and increased cost savings. Ensure cost reduction projects are executed completely across all banners by taking into account different store needs. Partner with strategic sourcing to analyze vendor agreements to potentially reduce costs.

• Ability to manage and direct multiple complex projects simultaneously to drive solutions that meet or surpass business expectations and deliver project milestones on-time and within budget.

• Strong financial acumen.

• Strong ability to influence without authority.

• Knowledge of store retail functions with regards to front end operations, supply, and maintenance needs.

• Retail grocery experience.

• Experience as a store manager or district manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
