Payroll Administrator II

 

Job Purpose

The Payroll Administrator, is responsible for a wide-range of moderately-complex tasks related to payroll processing for the organization including auditing payroll inputs and outputs,  maintaining related records, filing voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures. This position will serve as the subject matter expert in the operation of the payroll system and related tools and rely on a substantial understanding of payroll processes and procedures and judgment to resolve issues or provide the highest degree of customer satisfaction.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Prepares pay data for processing to support accurate net pay distribution, record correspondence for check voids, reissues, rewards, perk payments and non-cash contest prizes.  Processes off-cycle and on-cycle payrolls including loading data, balancing all earnings, deductions, and data entry throughout the payroll process up to finalization. Produces payroll confirmation, PDF processing, General Ledger validation and Banking Confirmations.

Analyzes and resolves escalated payroll correspondence from both internal and external business partners.  Resolves most issues and only escalates the most significant or complex issues to senior team members or management.  Maintains knowledge of changes in payroll processes and regulations to effectively respond to issues.

Audits net pay distribution after payroll processing for deletions, voids, and returns. Takes appropriate corrective action as necessary.  Corresponds with associates to explain needed changes for appropriate distribution.

Documents payroll procedures and makes updates as changes occur.
